Getting started
Open Start workout, allow access to your camera, and get into a high plank.
Try to position yourself so your head, hands, and the top of your movement are visible in the frame. Calisthus will take a moment to check your position before it starts counting.
If another person appears in the camera, counting pauses until only one person is in view.
How push-up counting works
Calisthus counts complete push-ups rather than partial movements.
After the initial alignment check, a rep needs to go up, down, and back up to count. Half reps are ignored, so your total only includes full cycles.
The same counting rules apply whether you’re working out on your own or competing in Matchmaking.
Need to stop? You can use the on-screen Stop button, or simply raise both hands with your palms open while staying in the plank position. Your valid reps will be saved.

FAQ
Does Calisthus upload my camera video?
No. Your camera frames and movement data are processed in the browser while you work out. Your video isn’t uploaded.
Do I need an account?
No. You can try the push-up counter without signing in. Your workout sets will stay in that browser until you log in with Google.
An account is required for Matchmaking.
How does the push-up counter know when I’ve done a rep?
Calisthus looks for a complete movement cycle after you’ve held the correct starting position. A full rep goes up, down, and back up. Partial reps don’t count.
Can I use it with another person?
Yes. After signing in, you can use Matchmaking for a 60-second push-up competition. Each person uses their own device and camera, and both players can see the live score during the match.
